Yes. Scottys Queen products are all handmade in the kitchen of our home in Kalispell, Montana. Starting with a bare vessel, the wax is melted and the oils are added, wicks chosen and attached, each product carefully poured by hand, labels printed and applied, tags printed, assembled, and tied with a little bow!
We currently sell Jar Candles, Wax Melts, and Laser Engraved Items. Contact Scottys Queen directly for pricing on any laser engraved items.
Those who live within the continental US can purchase Scottys Queen products off of our website.
We have booths set up throughout the year at various Craft Shows, and also the Kalispell Farmers Market ~ follow us on Facebook or sign up for our Website Blog updates to find out dates and times.
Also, Sykes Diner in Kalispell carries a select variety of our candles in their gift shop.
Some of our candles are made using Pure Soy Wax, and others are made using a Soy Wax and Palm Oil blend ~ you can find out which one is which under the description of each individual product on our website.
Some candles come with a standard Cotton Wick, and others come with a Wooden Wick (designed to give a slight Crackling sound while burning).
Wax Melts are made using a blend of Soy, Coconut, and Palm Wax.
For scent we use Fragrance Oils designed for use in candles, and most all candles and melts do contain some amount of dye.
If your Wooden Wick is not staying lit, it will help to trim any excess ash or debris off ~ make sure the candle is entirely cool, turn the candle upside down and scrape the wick entirely clean.
Also, too long of duration and frequent of burn times can cause this ~ try to let the candle sit a good 12 hours or so before relighting.
If you are still having issues, please do not hesitate to reach out. It's very important to us that you are happy with your product!
Candles can be so wonderful and awesome, almost like having a mini campfire in the house ~ BUT they are most definitely something that should always be handled with great care!
Here at Scottys Queen, we almost always have a candle burning in the house, and the flame never ever gets too big..
- ALWAYS trim the wick before lighting the candle, even if it looks super small to begin! Remove any excess debris or extra off of the wick. Wooden wicks especially require a good "scrape" to remove any extra before lighting!
- Never leave a burning candle unattended ~ the flame will never get to a point of being "out of control" if it is kept under proper watch. If the flame starts to get too big, extinguish the flame and let the candle cool entirely (sometimes a lack of cooling time between lightings can be the culprit). Then, trim that wick to about 1/8 of an inch - if it is a wooden wick, scrape it as far down as it will go. It should burn beautifully the next time you light it!
If you have any further issues, please don't hesitate to contact us! We will make sure you leave as a happy customer!

If you cannot smell your candle or wax melts while using them, first thing to know is that we would be happy to trade it out for you, give you a different fragrance, or reimburse. Your satisfaction is very important to us!
There could be multiple reasons you are not smelling your candle or wax melts : some fragrances are lighter and softer than others, if there are too many other smells going on in the area or if there are drafts nearby this can hinder fragrance throw.
Also, if a product was made very recently that can have an effect on the fragrance throw : the longer a candle (or wax melt) sits and cures, the better the fragrance throw will be! We do try to keep a good stock of product, and alternate bringing the older ones to sale, but we are still such a small company and sometimes a product is made just shortly before bringing it to sale. Another week or so of cure time can even make a noticable difference.
Most all of the artwork used on our labels are derived from beautiful old paintings found in the public domain.
